Apollo Basketball Against Detroit Lakes Tonight

The St. Cloud Apollo boys basketball team plays Detroit Lakes tonight in the Section 83A Finals at St. Cloud State’s Halenbeck Hall.  Tip-off tonight at 7pm, pregame on WJON at 6:55 with Jay Caldwell and Tom Fenton.  The Eagles are the top seed in the section and are 24-4 while Detroit Lakes is seeded 3rd in the section and is 21-7.  Apollo is led by seniors Blake Maslonkowski, Simon Krych, Derek Steve and Ibraham Abukar.  The Eagles did not lose a game in the Central Lakes Conference and their last loss was January 29 against Rice Lake, Wisconsin when they played in the border.  The winner of tonight’s game advances to the Class 3A state tournament at Williams Arena next Wednesday.
