The St. Cloud State men's hockey team completed a weekend sweep of Wisconsin winning 2-1 at the Kohl Center Saturday night. SCSU got the game-winning goal from Jarrod Rabey in the 3rd period after Nic Dowd tied the game at 2 in the 2nd. Mike Lee started in net for the 2nd straight night for the Huskies and had 41 saves.
The Timberwolves lost their first 2 games of the season but got back to the 500 mark for the first time this season with a 100-91 win at home over Houston. The Wolves were led by Kevin Love with 25 points and 18 rebounds, Luke Ridnour added 22 points and Ricky Rubio chipped in 13 points and 11 assists.
The Minnesota Wild lost 2-1 in an overtime shootout Saturday night to the Dallas Stars. Jamie Benn scored the game-winning goal in the shootout for Dallas. Kyle Brodziak scored the lone goal for Minnesota in regulation. Niklas Backstrom had 25 saves. The Wild outshot Dallas 34-26.
