Wolves’ Rubio Finishes 2nd In Rookie Voting
Timberwolves point guard Ricky Rubio finished 2nd to Cleveland point guard Kyrie Irving in the NBA rookie of the year voting. Irving received 117 of 120 possible first place votes. Rubio had 49 2nd place votes and 23 3rd place votes with a total of 170 points while Irving had a total of 592 points. Rubio averaged 10.6 points and 8.2 assists a game in 41 games for Minnesota in 2011-2012.
Derrick Williams was the 2nd overall pick in 2011 but did not receive a vote in the rookie of the year balloting. Williams averaged 8.8 points and 4.7 rebounds a game in 2011-2012.
