Twins Lose Fourth Straight Monday
The Twins continued a late-season slump against bad teams with a 6-1 loss to the New York Mets Monday at Target Field. The loss was Minnesota’s fourth straight following a win last Thursday against the White Sox.
The Twins were held in check for a majority of the game by Mets starter Dillon Gee, who went into the eighth inning without allowing an earned run. Gee struck out nine Minnesota batters.
His Twins counterpart, Kyle Gibson, did not fare as well. The rookie righty was lifted in the fourth inning after allowing two runs on ten hits with two walks.Gibson was sent down to AAA Rochester after the game.
The Twins begin a series with first place Detroit tonight at Comerica Park Tuesday night.
