The Minnesota Twins make their much anticipated home debut this afternoon, and it couldn't come soon enough. After a road trip that saw poor hitting and average pitching, the Twins will look for the friendly atmosphere of Target Field to get them on track.

After another loss to the Yankees yesterday, the Twins received the news that Tsuyoshi Nishioka will be out indefinitely with a fractured fibula. Nishioka was injured on a close play at second while he was attempting to turn a double play. Ironically he blew a chance to turn a routine double play the batter before that would've prevented the injury. Luke Hughes will be called up from Triple-A. Hughes had a solid Spring Training before being sent down to AAA Rochester. He'll get his chance to show what he can do at the major league level for an extended period of time.

The Twins will face Oakland today at three, in hopes of getting the season on track. A two and four record is no reason to panic for Twins fans, but Oakland has a solid pitching staff. To think this will be an easy series is anything but true. But hey, look on the bright side, the Red Soxs are 0-6.
