BALTIMORE — The Twins struggled to deliver hits with runners in scoring position as they lost 3-2 to the Orioles last night.

The Twins were a combined 1-for-12 with runners in scoring position, leaving 11 men on base.

Baltimore’s Chris Davis, who hit a grand-slam on Friday, continued to burn the Twins as he hit a sacrifice fly in the seventh inning which proved to be the game winner.

Twins starter, Kyle Gibson, gave up only one run on four hits but lasted only five innings as his pitch count neared 100.

Orioles backup infielder, Jimmy Paredes, who is in the lineup after star third baseman Manny Machado‘s season ended, provided two big blows – an RBI double in the fourth and a solo homerun in the sixth.

The Twins drop to 59-76, losers of six of their past seven games.

Ricky Nolasco is set to take the mound today for a 12:35 p.m. start as the Twins will try to salvage a game from the A.L. East-leading Orioles.
