The Twins beat up the Red Sox 15-8 Wednesday night at Fenway Park to improve their record back to .500 on the season. Minnesota  scored 11 runs in the first two innings of the game.

The Twins took a 4-0 lead in the top of the first inning thanks to a Justin Morneau RBI ground rule double, Trevor Plouffe sacrifice fly to center and a two run Ryan Doumit home run.

However, Twins starter Pedro Hernandez gave it all back, and then some, by allowing five runs in the bottom of the first. Jonny Gomes hit a grand slam and Stephen Drew had an RBI single.

Not to be outdone, Minnesota posted a seven run second inning beginning with a Pedro Florimon solo home run to tie the game at five. Morneau added a sacrifice fly and Trevor Plouffe contributed an RBI single for a 7-5 lead.

Red Sox starter Allen Webster was taken out of the game and replaced by Felix Doubront, who surrendered a two run single to Aaron Hicks and a two-run Florimon double that gave the Twins an 11-5 lead.

In the end, six Twins had multi-hit games and four players had at least three hits in the game. Ryan Doumit and Oswaldo Arcia each had four hits.

The Twins are 15-15 on the season and will finish a four game series in Boston, and a ten game road swing, Thursday night at 6:10.
