Twins Beat Verlander, Tigers 2-1 on Friday

DETROIT – The Minnesota Twins narrowly defeated Justin Verlander and the Detroit Tigers 2-1 on Friday night at Comerica Park.

Kurt Suzuki came up big for the Twins again, hitting a two run single off of Verlander in the seventh inning. Suzuki now has 24 RBIs this season.

Phil Hughes picked up his fourth win in a row, pitching seven scoreless innings and striking out three.

The Twins will face the Tigers again on Saturday. You can hear the action on AM1240 WJON with pregame at 11:35 a.m.
