The Timberwolves made it official today when they announced the hiring of Flip Saunders as President of Basketball operations and part-owner.  Saunders coached the Timberwolves from 1995-2006 and played college basketball at the University of Minnesota.  Saunders is considered a minority owner with Glen Taylor remaining as the majority owner.

Saunders has been working as an ESPN NBA analyst and has coached in the NBA with the Timberwolves, Detroit Pistons and Washington Wizards.  Saunders has also served as General Manager with the Timberwolves.

Rick Adelman is expected to stay on as head coach of the Timberwolves.  David Kahn did not have his contract option picked up by Glen Taylor.  That announcement came Thursday.  In the 4 years Kahn was the President of Basketball Operations for the Wolves Minnesota had a record of 89-223.
