T-Wolves Have 11pm Deadline To Extend Love

The Timberwolves have a deadline of 11pm (Central Time) tonight to sign Timberwolves forward Kevin Love to a contract extension to keep him from being a restricted free agent this summer. Love could also choose to make $6.1 Million in 2012-2013 and become a unrestricted free agent in 2013. The Wolves and Love and reportedly been talking but no contract agreement appears imminent.

Rockets, McHale Down Timberwolves

The Timberwolves lost at home to Houston 107-92 Monday night at Target Center. Former Timberwolves executive and head coach Kevin McHale is now the head coach for the Rockets and made his return to Minnesota. Kevin Martin led the Rockets with 31 points. Kevin Love led the Wolves with 39 points and 12 rebounds, Luke Ridnour added 17 points and Ricky Rubio added 6 points and 12 assists.

Timberwolves Rally To Beat Pistons

The Timberwolves played from behind for much of the night before rallying in the 2nd half to beat Detroit 93-85 Wednesday night. Kevin Love led the Wolves with 20 points and 17 rebounds and Wesley Johnson, Nikola Pekovic and Anthony Tolliver added 11 points apiece for Minnesota.

The Timberwolves won 99-86 Monday night at home against Sacramento. Kevin Love led the Wolves with 33 points and 11 rebounds, Luke Ridnour added 25 points and 9 assists and Ricky Rubio added 9 points, 8 rebounds and 8 assists. Minnesota shot 46 percent from the field while Sacramento shot 44 percent.

T-Wolves Lose Tight Game at Atlanta

The Timberwolves lost 93-91 Saturday night at Atlanta against the Hawks. Ricky Rubio scored a career high 18 points and had 12 assists and Kevin Love added 30 points and 13 rebounds for Minnesota. Joe Johnson had 25 points and Jeff Teague had 20 points for the Hawks. Minnesota was outrebounded 51-40.

The Timberwolves won 87-80 at New Orleans Friday night to improve to 4-7 on the season. Ricky Rubio made his first NBA start and had 12 points and 9 assists in 44 minutes. Kevin Love led the Wolves with 34 points and 15 rebounds and Luke Ridnour added 13 points for Minnesota. The Wolves trailed 38-37 at halftime.

Rubio 3rd, Love 5th In All Star Voting

Timberwolves guard Ricky Rubio is 3rd among guards in the Western Conference in the All Star voting. Rubio has received 133,520 votes and trails 2nd place Chris Paul of the L.A. Clippers by 460,000 votes for 2nd place. Kobe Bryant of the Lakers is the leader with 690,000 votes. Kevin Love is 5th among forwards with 143,814 votes.

The Timberwolves lost 111-100 to the Chicago Bulls at Target Center Tuesday night. Minnesota fell behind by 24 points in the first half but rallied to tie the game at 70 in the 3rd quarter. Luke Ridnour led the Wolves with 22 points and Kevin Love added 20 points and 13 rebounds. Ricky Rubio posted another solid performance with 13 points and 12 assists.

The Timberwolves won 93-72 at Washington Sunday afternoon. Kevin Love led the Wolves with 20 points and 16 rebounds and Ricky Rubio added 13 points and 14 assists. Minnesota shot 45 percent from the field while Washington shot just 34 percent. The Wolves improve to 3-5. Washington remains winless.
