November 5, 2012 The Gopher women's basketball team defeated Minnesota State-Mankato 66-56 Sunday afternoon at Williams Arena. Minnesota was led by Rachel Banham with 20 points and Micaella Riche added 19 points and 12 rebounds for the Gophers. Minnesota shot 47 percent from the field while Mankato shot 31 percent.
November 2, 2012 The Gopher men's basketball team defeated Minnesota State-Mankato 81-56 Thursday night in an exhibition game. Joe Coleman was the lone Gopher in double figures with 21 points while Austin Hollins added 9 points and both Maurice Walker and Rodney Williams added 8 points. Trevor Mbakwe added 4 points in 11 minutes for Minnesota.
October 28, 2012 The St. Cloud State men's hockey team beat Minnesota State-Mankato 5-1 Saturday to complete a weekend sweep. The Huskies also won 5-1 on Friday night. Cory Thorson scored in the 2nd period to break a scoreless tie and SCSU scored 4 3rd period goals led by Nic Dowd's game-winner early in the 3rd period.
October 25, 2012 The St. Cloud State men's hockey team will open the WCHA season this weekend at home against Minnesota State-Mankato this Friday and Saturday. SCSU hosts the Mavericks at 7:37 Friday night and at 7:07 on Saturday night. St. Cloud State is 2-2-0 after sweeping Alabama-Huntsville 8-3 and 4-0 last weekend. MSU-Mankato is 2-0-2 this season. Mankato tied and beat Huntsville 2 weeks ago.
July 19, 2011 The Vikings and Minnesota State University-Mankato officials announced Monday that they are putting off the decision to have training camp in Mankato this season. The two parties are optimistic that a new collective bargaining agreement will be agreed upon by NFL owner and players this week ending the 4-month long lockout.
