The Twins lost 12-5 to Tampa Bay at home in their hopes of a sweep against the Rays at Target Field. Tampa Bay scored 4 8th inning runs and added 3 more runs in the 9th inning to secure the win. Alex Burnett and Phil Dumatrait were each roughed up by the Rays. Burnett allowed 4 hits and 4 earned runs in 1 1/3 innings to take the loss and drop to 2-5. Francisco Liriano started the game for the Twins and allowed 6 hits and 5 earned runs in 4 1/3 innings.
Giants, Lincecum Beat Twins 2-1
The Twins lost for the 2nd straight day 2-1 at San Francisco Thursday night. Michael Cuddyer extended his hitting streak to 12 games and were 3-4 with 1 RBI for the Twins. Minnesota had just 4 hits on the day. Tim Lincecum threw 7 shutout innings with 3 hits allowed and 12 strikeouts to get the win.
Twins Get Blanked By Blue Jays 3-0
The Twins lost 3-0 to the Toronto Blue Jays in exhibition play in Florida Sunday afternoon. Scott Baker allowed 3 hits and 1 earned run in 4 innings to take the loss and drop to 1-3 this spring. Jesse Litsch got the win for the Blue Jays. Minnesota managed just 4 hits with 1 apiece from Tsuyoshi Nishioka and Delmon Young.
