Tsuyoshi Niskioka had the go-ahead sacrifice fly in the 9th inning for the Twins. Ryan Doumit went 3-5 with a run scored, Brian Dozier was 2-5 with a run and 1 RBI and Jamey Carroll had 2 hits and a run scored for Minnesota.

The Twins defeated the White Sox 7-6 Monday night on a Jamey Carroll's walk-off sacrifice fly scoring Alexi Casilla from 3rd base. Danny Valencia went 2-3 with 2 RBIs, Josh Willingham was 2-3 with a run scored and 1 RBI and Denard Span was 2-3 with a run scored. Span also added 2 great catches in centerfield. Glen Perkins threw a scoreless 9th inning to get the win. He is 2-1.

Texas beat the Twins 4-3 in 13 innings Sunday night. Minnesota led 3-0 going into the bottom of the 9th inning when Texas scored 3 unearned runs off Glen Perkins. Brian Dozier started the inning but committed an error that led to the 3 unearned runs. Ian Kinsler singled off Alex Burnett in the 13th inning to end the game.

The Twins lost 4-3 at home to the Texas Rangers Sunday afternoon. The Rangers complete the 3-game sweep and send the Twins to a American League worst 2-7. Minnesota led until the 8th inning when Josh Hamilton hit a 2-run homerun off Twins' reliever Glen Perkins. Perkins allowed 2 hits and 3 earned runs without recording an out for the Twins. Newly acquired outfielder Clete Thomas hit a 2-run homerun in his Twins debut.

The Twins lost 1-0 to Tampa Bay in exhibition play in Florida Friday. Francisco Liriano threw 3 shutout innings with no walks and 5 strikeouts for the Twins. Denard Span was 1-2 at the plate, Joe Mauer was 0-2 and Justin Morneau went 0-3. The Twins are 3-4 this spring and will play St. Louis at 12:05 today, pregame on WJON at 12:00.

The Minnesota Twins have signed left-handed reliever Glen Perkins to a three-year contract extension.

The Twins and relief pitcher Glen Perkins have agreed to terms on a 1-year contract worth $1.55 Million to avoid salary arbitration. The Twins and starting pitcher Francisco Liriano have agreed to terms on a 1-year $5.55 Million contract.

The Twins have activated catcher Joe Mauer and relief pitcher Glen Perkins from the disabled list Thursday. Mauer has been out since April 12 with leg weakness and has spent the last few weeks rehabbing in Fort Myers, Florida. Mauer spoke a press conference Thursday and stressed the amount of work that has gone into him returning.

Scott Baker was named the Twins fifth starter. Now let's hope they do the right thing with Kevin Slowey.

The Twins avoided salary arbitration with relief pitchers Matt Capps and Glen Perkins. Capps agrees to a 1-year deal worth $7.15 Million and Perkins agrees to a 1-year deal worth $700,000.
