St. John’s RB Runs Into Record Books In Win
EAU CLAIRE, WIS. -- Johnnies' runningback Sam Sura broke the school record for rushing yards in a game, carrying SJU to victory in 31-7 romp of UW-Eau Claire.
Sura, a junior from St. Paul, scored twice and rushed 32 times for 281 yards - breaking a 15-year record for Johnnies football.
The St. John's defense held UW-Eau Claire scoreless until midway through the fourth quarter.
The win improves the Johnnies to 2-0 on the season.
SJU hosts Concordia next Saturday at 1:00 p.m. at Clemens Stadium in Collegeville.
