ABERDEEN, S.D. -- The St. Cloud State University men's and women's basketball teams each triumphed over Northern State on Friday.

SCSU MEN WIN FIFTH STRAIGHT

The Huskies continued their recent hot streak as four players score in double digits to lead SCSU to their fifth straigh win, a 92-81 victory over Northern State.

Jordan Poydras and Scottie Stone led the Huskies, scoring 24 and 22 points respectively. The duo shot well from long range, combining to go 8-for-15 from beyond the three-point arc.

Donnell Cegers added 18 points off the bench and Eddie Alcantara finished with a double-double, scoring 14 points and pulling down 10 rebounds.

With the win, the Huskies improve to 16-9 on the season and will travel to take on Minnesota State-Moorhead tonight.

HUSKIES WOMEN EDGE NORTHERN STATE

Sophomore's big game leads the SCSU women's basketball team to a hard-fought 61-59 victory over Northern State on Friday.

Guard Betsy McDonald scored a game-high 26 points - which included hitting on 4-of-6 from three point range - to lead the Huskies.

McDonald was red-hot, as the sophomore from St. Paul shot 10-of-14 from the field for the game.

The win pushes SCSU to 14-9 on the season and the Huskies will look for their 15th win tonight in Moorhead as they take on the MSUM Dragons.
