St. Cloud Tech and CC Play in Baseball World Series
The St. Cloud Tech and Community College baseball team play in the National Junior College World Series in Tyler, Texas this weekend. Their first game is at 9am Saturday against the host team from Tyler. The Cyclones are 42-7. SCSU Baseball Wins NCAA Tourney Game
The St. Cloud State baseball team defeated Winona State 12-7 Thursday in the NCAA Division II Central Regional in Mankato. SCSU broke the 7-all tie with 5 runs in the 8th inning led by Mike Jurgella's bases clearing double. Garrett Fischer was 3-3 with 2 runs scored and 1 RBI and Chris Kubitz threw 2 scoreless innings to get the win in relief for the Huskies.
Johnnie Baseball Eliminated In NCAAs
The St. John's baseball team lost 7-2 to Coe College of Iowa in an elimination game in McMinnville, Oregon in the NCAA Division III tournament Thursday. Max Forster hit a 2-run homerun for the Johnnies and Ryan Spengler allowed 8 hits and 4 earned runs in 6 1/3 innings but takes the loss and drops to 6-4 on the season.
Johnnies Lose 6-3 to Concordia-Texas in NCAAs
The St. John's baseball team lost 6-3 to Concordia of Texas in McMinnville, Oregon in the NCAA Division III tournament on Wednesday. Justin Thompson went 2-3 with a RBI and Dylan Graves was 1-3 with 1 RBI for the Johnnies. Hayden Zimmerman threw 6 1/3 innings with 5 hits and 4 earned runs allowed to take the loss.
Johnnie Baseball In NCAAs Wednesday
The St. John's baseball team plays in the NCAA Division III tournament for the first time since 1998 Wednesday in Oregon at Linfield College at 2pm (Central Time) against the regions top seed Concordia of Texas. The Johnnies are coached by Jerry Haugen who's in his 35th year as head coach. Haugen has led the Johnnies to NCAA tournament appearances in 1994 and 1998 and sent the Johnnies to the MIAC tournament in 2003, 2007, 2010, 2011 and 2012.
Rox Reveal New Uniforms
St. Cloud Rox To Reveal New Uniforms
The St. Cloud Rox will reveal their new uniforms at an event at Buffalo Wild Wings tonight at 5:30. Current players Phil Imholte, and possibly current Gopher Andy Henkemeyer will model the uniforms. The Rox are also selling tickets and merchandise including the new uniforms at the event tonight. The event is free and open to the public.
SCSU Baseball Gets NCAA Bid
The St. Cloud State baseball team received a bid to the NCAA Division II tournament when the pairings were announced on Sunday. SCSU is seeded #2 in the Central Region and will play #5 Winona State Thursday in Mankato. Minnesota State-Mankato is the #1 seed and will host #6 Regis Thursday, #3 Colorado Mesa will play #4 New Mexico Highlands Thursday in Mankato. The times of the games Thursday will be announced Monday.
