DALLAS, TX. -- The Timberwolves defense continues to struggle in their fifth straight loss as they were outshot by the Dallas Mavericks 131-117 in Texas last night.

Eight Mavericks scored in double figures and Dallas shot over 55% from the field last night as it seemed Minnesota's defense could not get a stop.

Kevin Martin led the Wolves in points, scoring 34 and Shabazz Muhammad added 18 off the bench, but Minnesota was simply outmatched by the superior Mavericks.

The loss drops the Wolves to a paltry 2-7 on the season as they get a few days rest before hosting the New York Knicks on Wednesday.

Wednesday's game will be the first at Target Center since the November 1st 106-105 loss to the Chicago Bulls that began the five-game skid.
