The Timberwolves made just one field goal in the fourth quarter but hit 7/10 free throws down the stretch.
The Wolves offense was hot right out of the gate. Nikola Pekovic had nine points for the Timberwolves in the first quarter and Derrick Williams had ten points on 4-5 shooting to pace the high-scoring quarter.
Minnesota (20-31) led the Sixers (22-30) 35-25 after one.
The Wolves led by 15 at the half 56-41 and led by nine points heading into the fourth quarter.
The Sixers made a run in the fourth quarter and got as close as four points with 2:47 remaining in the fourth quarter but the Wolves secured the win by making free throws down the stretch.
