The Minnesota Timberwolves return home Tuesday night to host the struggling Los Angeles Lakers (6:30, WJON).

The Wolves are 23-24 on the season, which puts them in 10th place in the very competitive Western Conference. Minnesota is four games behind the Dallas Mavericks for the eighth and final playoff spot in the West. The Timberwolves trail the LA Clippers by nine games for fourth place in the West, which would give them a first round series at home.

The Lakers are reeling and playing without Kobe Bryant (knee) and Pau Gasol (groin), but will get both Steve Blake and Steve Nash back from injury tonight. Los Angeles is 16-31 on the season and in 13th place in the Western Conference.
