The Minnesota Wild dropped their preseason opener 2-1 at Winnipeg on Monday night. Tyler Graovac scored the lone Wild goal in the loss.

The Jets outshot the Wild 28-18 in the game. Former Gopher and current Winnipeg Jet Dustin Byfuglien scored the game’s first goal late in the second period, and Bryan Little’s goal at 4:27 of the third gave Winnipeg a 2-0 lead before Graovac’s goal with just :14 left.

Niklas Backstrom saved all 12 shots he faced for the Wild, with Ilya Bryzgalov allowing two goals on six shots.

The Wild are at Pittsburgh on Thursday night.
