The Wild beat the San Jose Sharks 4-3 in a shootout Thursday night at Xcel Energy Center in St. Paul. Minnesota improves to 6-3 with the win.

After a San Jose goal late in the first period and another early in the second, the Wild began their comeback with a Mikko Koivu goal at 8:40 of the second to make the score 2-1 at the second intermission.

Joe Thornton scored his third goal of the year at 1:37 to give the Sharks a 3-1 lead in the third period, but Kyle Brodziak scored a pair of goals for the Wild to send the game to overtime.

The Wild won the shootout 2-1 with Koivu and Jason Pominville scoring.  Minnesota hosts Dallas Saturday night.
