The Minnesota Wild announced Thursday morning that they have signed forward Jason Pominville to a five year contract extension. Terms of the deal were not immediately disclosed.

Pominville was acquired in a trade with the Buffalo Sabres at the trade deadline last season. In ten games with the Wild, "Pommer" scored four goals and notched five assists.

The 30 year old Pominville's regular season ended prematurely when he was elbowed in the head by LA's Dustin Brown.

The Wild will host Brown and the LA Kings Thursday night at Xcel Energy Center to open the 2013-14 season.
