The Minnesota Wild signed the top two available NHL free agents left wing Zach Parise and defenseman Ryan Suter to 13-year $98 Million contracts on Wednesday.  Parise and Suter are both 27-years old and have Minnesota ties.  Parise grew up in Minnesota, played high school hockey at Shattuck St. Mary's in Faribault, college hockey at North Dakota and is the son of former Minnesota North Star J.P. Parise.  Suter's wife is from Bloomington, Minnesota.

Parise was the 17th overall pick and Suter was the 7th overall pick in the 2003 NHL draft.  Parise played his first 7 seasons with New Jersey and had 31 goals and 38 assists in leading the Devils to the Stanley Cup Finals in 2011-2012.

Suter had 7 goals and 39 assists while playing for Nashville in 2011-2012.  Suter played his first 7 seasons in Nashville.
