The Wild jumped out to a three goal lead then hung on for dear life in a 4-3 win over the Arizona Coyotes Thursday night. Minnesota is now 3-0 to start the season.

Zach Parise got the Wild on the board with his fifth goal of the season at 9:22 of the first period. The power play goal was the first allowed by Arizona in 12 chances so far this season.

Thomas Vanek made the score 2-0 just one minute later with his 300th career goal.

Mikko Koivu's shorthanded goal at 7:07 gave the Wild a 3-0 lead, and it appeared Minnesota would cruise to victory. After a Coyotes' goal at 12:14 of the second, Mikael Granlund added a shorty to make it a 4-1 game.

Arizona outshot the Wild 13-3 in the third period and added a goal halfway through the final frame, but Devan Dubnyk was able to hold the lead and earn the win.

The Wild are in Los Angeles Friday night for a 9:30 opening face off. The game can be heard on AM 1390 The Fan with pregame coverage beginning at 9:15.
