Wild Re-Sign Rau and Agree to Deal With Veilleux
The Minnesota Wild have re-signed center Chad Rau to a 2-year contract and agreed to terms on a 1-year contract with left wing Stephane Veilleux. Veilleux returned to the Wild in a trade with New Jersey in February. Rau scored 2 goals in 9 games for the Wild last season. He's an Eden Prairie native.
The Wild have also offered qualifying offers to 8 offers players including Guillaume Latendresse. The Wild reportedly are trying to work out a 1-year incentive laden contract for Latendresse. NHL free agency begins on July 1. Minnesota is expected to pursue expected free agent Zach Parise.
