The Minnesota Wild needed scoring and a go-to scorer and they may have got one by trading Martin Havlat for Dany Heatley.  Heatley is a goal-scorer and Havlat is not.  Havlat is best suited to setup teammates where Heatley is more of a Marion Gaborik type that is looking for score first.  He had 64 points with 26 goals with San Jose in 2010-2011.

Heatley scored 39 goals in 2009-2010 with San Jose and 39 goals with Ottawa in 2008-2009.  He had 2 50-goal seasons with Ottawa as well.  With unselfish assist-men Mikko Koivu and Pierre-Marc Bouchard the Wild may have the right formula to get better next season.

The one thing we can be assured with the Wild is that they will play which is more than we can say for the Vikings or Timberwolves.
