The Minnesota Wild generated plenty of chances but once again fell short in a 3-2 loss to the Boston Bruins at Xcel Energy Center Wednesday night. The Wild are 16-12-2 on the season, two points out of the playoff picture.

The Wild out-shot the Bruins 37-27 in the game, including 20-5 in the second period, but could not score in the second frame despite the lopsided total.

Minnesota trailed 2-1 heading into the third period before Jason Pominville scored on a deflection to tie the game with 8:21 remaining in regulation.

Loui Eriksson scored his sixth goal of the season for the Bruins at 1:30 of overtime to earn the win.

The Wild host Nashville Saturday at the X.
