ST. PAUL -- The Minnesota Wild rallied back from a two goal deficit but ultimately lost to the Nashville Predators 6-5 in overtime Saturday night.

The game was back-and-forth from the get-go , as the Wild and Predators traded blows in a first period that saw five goals scored between the teams.

Minnesota took the early 1-0 lead on a goal by Jason Zucker and later took the 2-1 lead on Zach Parise's 12th goal of the season.

The first period was a rough one for Wild goalie Darcy Kuemper who allowed three first period goals in his first game back from illness and was replaced by Niklas Backstrom.

Behind again, Marco Scandella tied the game at 3-3 on a power play goal - his seventh of the season.

The Wild fell behind yet again in the third period as they trailed 5-3 before a power play goal by Parise cut the deficit in half.

Things looked bleak for Minnesota in the final minute before Thomas Vanek netted his fifth goal of the season to tie the game at 5-5 with just seconds remaining.

The Predators' Mattias Ekholm ended the game with his first career goal just under two minutes into the extra period.

With the loss, the Wild fall to 16-12-3 (35 points) on the season and will look to rebound Tuesday as the host the Philadelphia Flyers.
