The Minnesota Wild beat the Calgary Flames 3-2 Monday night at Xcel Energy Center. The win gives Minnesota a nine point lead in the Wild Card race over Winnipeg.

Kyle Brodziak scored at 9:02 of the second period to break a scoreless tie and give the Wild a 1-0 lead. Mike Cammalleri scored for Calgary with just over three minutes left in the second to tie the game at one.

The Wild secured a 2-1 lead on Jared Spurgeon’s power play goal at 5:49 of the third period, then got the eventual game-winning goal from Zach Parise at 14:44 of the period.

Darcy Kuemper made 21 saves to earn the win for Minnesota, the team’s fifth straight.

Minnesota is at Dallas Saturday night.
