ST. PAUL -- Three third-period goals propelled the Minnesota Wild to a 4-2 victory over the Calgary Flames on Friday.

Minnesota fell behind 1-0 early in the first but tied the game midway through the period on a power play goal by Matt Dumba.

The score remained tied 1-1 until Thomas Vanek scored early in the third period.

Goals by Zach Parise and Mikko Kouivu helped to break the game open and give the Wild a 4-1 lead.

Calgary scored a goal late in the period, but that was all the Flames could muster against Minnesota goalie Devan Dubnyk.

The Wild (93 points) have won 23 of their last 29 games and sit comfortably in the fifth seed in the Western Conference -- one point behind the fourth seed Chicago Blackhawks.

The Wild will host eighth seeded Los Angeles Kings tonight at Xcel Energy Center.
