The Twins lost 4-3 at home to the Chicago White Sox Tuesday night.  A.J. Pierzynski hit a 2-run homerun off Jeff Gray in the 9th inning to break a 2-all tie.  Denard Span went 4-5 with a RBI single in the 9th inning for the Twins.  Danny Valencia was 1-4 with 1 RBI.  Nick Blackburn allowed 5 hits and 2 earned runs in 8 innings for the Twins.

Francisco Liriano made his White Sox debut and threw 6 innings with 4 hits and 2 earned runs allowed.  He struckout 8 and walked 4 but didn't figure in the final decision.

The Twins are 44-59 and are 12 games back of the White Sox for first place in the American League Central.  Minnesota will host the White Sox today at 12:10 to wrapup the 3-game series, pregame on WJON at 11:40.  Lefthander Scott Diamond (9-4) gets the start on the mound for the Twins and righthander Jake Peavy (8-7) toes the rubber for the White Sox.

The Twins did not make any trades before the trade deadline Tuesday.  Denard Span, Jared Burton, Glen Perkins, Josh Willingham, and Justin Morneau were all mentioned as trade possibilities.
