Viking defensive tackle Kevin Williams won't play Sunday at the Lions due to a hyperextended knee.  The announcement came from Viking head coach Leslie Frazier Friday afternoon.  Williams was unable to practice all week.  Rookie Sharif Floyd is expected to receive the bulk of the action in Williams' place on the Viking defensive line.  Williams sustained the injury when San Francisco offensive lineman Joe Looney hit  Williams during the Viking/49er preseason game.

The Vikings open the regular season Sunday at Detroit at noon, pregame on WJON at 11am.
