MINNEAPOLIS -- The Minnesota Vikings completed a trade with the Miami Dolphins that will bring wide receiver Mike Wallace to Minnesota.

The Vikings will send a 5th round pick to Miami in exchange for the seventh-year wideout and a seventh round pick.

For his career, Wallace has caught 375 passes for 5,834 yards (15.6 average) and 47 touchdowns and he made the Pro Bowl in 2011.

Wallace spent his first four seasons with the Pittsburgh Steelers where he became one of the best young deep threats in the league. But Wallace disappointed in Miami after signing a five-year $60 million deal in 2013.

The 28-year-old receiver looks to revive his career in Vikings Offensive Coordinator Norv Turner's downfield passing attack.

Barring a restructured contract, the Vikings will pay the final three years of Wallace's big deal including $9.85 million this season.

The trade may lead to the Vikings releasing veteran receiver Greg Jennings (who is owed $8.9 million this season) if they cannot reach an agreement on a restructured contract with him.
