Governor Mark Dayton announced Tuesday after meeting with legislative leaders that they would not support local or state tax increases to pay for a Vikings Stadium.  The Vikings had an agreement with Ramsey County to build the Stadium in suburban Arden Hills, Minnesota.  The deal called for a $350 Million contribution from Ramsey County with a 1/2 cent sales tax increase to pay for it.

With Dayton and lawmaker nixes the sales tax increase in Ramsey County the deal must now make up for the $350 Million that Ramsey County was going to take care of in the $1.1 Billion Stadium.  The Vikings still prefer building the Stadium in Ramsey County while Governor Dayton and lawmakers try to find other revenue sources to build the stadium before the Vikings look to move out of the state.
