The Vikings released safety Madieu Williams, defensive tackle Jimmy Kennedy and receiver Freddie Brown Thursday.  Williams was due to make $5.5 Million this season and hasn't lived up to expectations.  Kennedy and Brown were expected to be released.  The Vikings did not release receiver Bernard Berrian yet.  Berrian is due to make more than $6 Million this season.  The Vikings may just ask Berrian to take a pay cut with Sidney Rice signing with Seattle.

Minnesota did agree to sign defensive tackle Remi Ayodele for $9 Million over 3 seasons.  He had 37 tackles and played all 16 games for New Orleans last season.  He is 28 years old.  The Vikings have also been in pursuit of a free agent receiver and have shown interest in James Jones (Green Bay), Malcolm Floyd (San Diego) and Braylon Edwards (Jets).
