Vikings Ink Veteran Cornerback Newman

The Minnesota Vikings have reunited another player with head coach Mike Zimmer.

The Vikings have agreed to a one-year deal today (Friday) with veteran cornerback Terence Newman.

Newman played for Zimmer two different times in his career, four season in Dallas and two in Cincinnati when Zimmer was the defensive coordinator for both teams.

He was drafted fifth overall out of Kansas State in 2003 by the Cowboys and played for the Bengals the last three years.

The Vikings continue to look to improve their secondary and hope have a veteran like Newman will help build more depth around Xavier Rhodes, Captain Munnerlyn and Josh Robinson.

Newman has 37 career interceptions, the third-most among active players in the NFL.
