Vikings Get Defensive Tackle, Defensive Back In Draft
Many Vikings fans breathed a sigh of relief when commissioner Roger Goodell announced the Vikings first round picks and the words “Manti Te’o” did not come out of his mouth. Not once.
The Vikings took defensive tackle Sharrif Floyd of Florida with their first pick of the first round (23rd overall), then drafted cornerback Xavier Rhodes from Florida State at 25th overall.
Floyd was projected by many to go within the first ten picks of the draft. The junior stands at 6’2″ and weighs 297 lbs.
Floyd registered 46 tackles and three sacks in 2012 with the Gators.
Rhodes is leaving after his junior year at Florida State after a 39 tackle, three interception season in 2012. He stands 6’1″ and weighs 210 lbs.
