Vikes Should Get Familiar With Kevin Kolb!

The Vikings quarterback of the future may, or may not be, Joe Webb.  I am leaning towards the latter.  He is a great athlete that I can see being very useful to an offense in a lot of ways.  He was thought of more as a wide receiver prospect coming out of college.  Personally, I think it would be very fun to watch him run the 'wildcat' formation, with Adrian Peterson and Percy Harvin.  Still, though, probably not the QB for next year.

There is a guy that will be on the opposite sidelines from the Vikings Sunday night in Philadelphia, that would look great in purple next year.  Kevin Kolb.  He is young, athletic, and has a terrific arm.  He is composed, and the best thing about him - he is smart.

This is a quarterback who set all kinds of records in college.  Physically, he is big and strong, like Ben Roethlisberger, but faster and more nimble.  Joe Webb would be a good back-up, and don't forget the Vikings will have a very high draft pick in April.  If they like any of the big name college QB's, they will probably be able to draft one (Ryan Mallett from Arkansas is the best, in my not-so-humble opinion).

Remember this, Eagles coach Andy Reid is a great coach,  an offensive genius, and a proven winner.  He traded Donovan McNabb, with the intention of handing the offense over to Kolb.  Because of injury, Michael Vick has now taken that job, and looks to be the man going forward in Philadelphia.  The Eagles can't keep them both next year.  Vick has been phenominal, but in the meantime, Kevin Kolb has never really gotten to show what he can do.  I'm hoping that the Vikings give him that chance in 2011.
