The University of Minnesota introduced Norwood Teague as their new Athletic Director at a press conference Monday afternoon.  Teague has spent the last 6 years as the Athletic Director at Virginia Commonwealth.  Teague will make a base salary of $400,000 which is on the low end of Big Ten Athletic Directors.  He replaces the retiring Joel Maturi and will start July 1.

Teague is credited with raising the Athletic Department to prominence especially in the Men's Basketball program by keeping highly sought-after men's basketball coach Shaka Smart.  VCU went to the NCAA men's basketball final four in 2011.
