Twins Win Wild Game In Los Angeles Late Tuesday Night
The Twins won for the sixth time in seven games Tuesday night with a 10-3 win over the Angels in ten innings. Minnesota has now won three straight series.
The Twins led 3-2 heading into the bottom of the ninth, but All Star closer Glen Perkins could not hold the lead, eventually walking in the tying run in a sloppy inning.
Catcher Chris Hermann, added to the lineup at the last minute with Joe Mauer leaving the stadium to witness the birth of his twins, smashed a grand slam in the top of the tenth to highlight a seven-run rally. Pedro Florimon also had a home run in the tenth.
Kyle Gibson pitched well for the Twins, allowing just two runs on five hits in six innings.
The Twins and Angels finish their series Wednesday afternoon at 2:35.
