The Twins traded All Star shortstop Eduardo Nunez to the San Francisco Giants following Thursday's win over the Baltimore Orioles. In return, the Giants sent their fifth-best prospect (per Baseball America) in 23-year-old pitcher Adalberto Mejia.

Nunez hit .296 this season with the Twins with 12 home runs and 47 runs batted in, and is second in the American League with 27 stolen bases.

Mejia, pitching for AAA Sacramento, is 4-1 this season with a 4.20 earned run average. He was suspended 50 games in 2015 for using an illegal stimulant.
