The Tigers beat the Twins 8-6 Monday night at Target Field. With just 12 games left in the season the Twins fall to 63-87 on the season.

Anthony Swarzak was lit up in a spot start for Minnesota, lasting only 4.1 innings while allowing six runs on 11 hits with two strikeouts.

The Twins offense mounted a middle-inning comeback thanks to an Oswaldo Arcia home run and four runs batted in from Joe Mauer, but Casey Fien served up back-to-back home runs to Torii Hunter and Miguel Cabrera in the top of the ninth that gave the Tigers the win.

Minnesota and Detroit will play again Tuesday night at Target Field. Rick Porcello will get the start for the Tigers against the Twins’ Ricky Nolasco.
