The Twins fell 7-1 to the Royals in Kansas City Monday night in the opening game of a three game series. Minnesota is just 1-6 on the road this season.

Kyle Gibson struggled in his start for the Twins, lasting just five innings while allowing four runs on four hits and four walks. Gibson, who did not strike out a batter, needed 94 pitches to get through his five innings of work.

Edinson Volquez was excellent in his start for Kansas City, allowing just one run on five hits in seven innings of work. Kendrys Morales was 2-4 with two runs scored and two runs batted in.

Oswaldo Arcia committed his first error of the season when he dropped a line drive, just one in a series of miscues committed by a shaky Twins defense on the evening.

The Twins and Royals meet again Tuesday night at Kauffman Stadium. The game can be heard on AM 1240 WJON at 6:30.
