Seattle jumped all over Twins starter Kevin Correia in an 8-2 Mariners win at Safeco Field Thursday. Correia allowed six runs in the second inning to dig his team a deep hole.

The Mariners rallied for six runs on seven hits in the bottom of the second inning, highlighted by Nick Franklin's three-run home run to center field. Correia lasted just 1.2 innings before being yanked in favor of Ryan Pressly.

Chris Hermann had the only multi-hit game for the Twins, going 2-5 to raise his average to .355 on the season. The catcher, playing in place of Joe Mauer (paternity leave), also had an RBI in the ninth inning.

The Twins and Mariners continue their four game series with game two on Friday.
