The Twins won 4-3 in 10 innings Thursday night to salvage the final game of the 3-game series against Kansas City.  Denard Span had the walk-off RBI double for the Twins to win it.  Trevor Plouffe forced extra innings with a solo homerun in the 9th inning.  Plouffe was 2-4.  Josh Willingham hit a solo homerun, his 34th and drove in 2 runs on the night.

Glen Perkins threw 2 shutout innings with 1 hit allowed to get the win.  Liam Hendriks threw 5 innings with 7 hits and 3 earned runs allowed but didn't figure in the final decision.

The Twins are 60-84 and are tied with Cleveland for fourth place in the American League Central.  The Twins begin a 3-game series at home against the Chicago White Sox tonight at 7:10, pregame on WJON at 6:40.  Righthander Esmerling Vazquez (0-1) gets the start on the mound for the Twins and lefthander Chris Sales (16-6) toes the rubber for the White Sox.
