The Twins got their bats going against an old foe to beat the New York Yankees 10-4 Sunday afternoon at Yankee Stadium. Minnesota beat New York 4-1 on Saturday. It is the first series win in New York for the Twins since 2001.

Yankees starter CC Sabathia, a Twins nemesis since his early days in Cleveland, was let down by his defense in allowing eight runs in four innings with only three of the runs being earned.

The Twins pounded out 14 hits in the game, with every starter getting at least one. Rookie Kyle Gibson bounced back from an eight-run outing against the Yankees earlier this season at Target Field to earn the win. The righty allowed two earned runs in five innings of work.

Aaron Hicks smashed a three-run home run in the top of the third to make the score 5-0.

The Twins are off until Thursday for the All Star break. Closer Glen Perkins and catcher Joe Mauer are the Twins representatives at the game.
