The Twins lost their seventh straight game Tuesday night with a 5-4 loss in Atlanta. The Braves earned the win with runs in each of the ninth and tenth innings.

Ryan Doumit and Trevor Plouffe each singled home runs for Minnesota in the eighth inning to temporarily give the Twins a 4-3 lead.

Minnesota closer Glen Perkins, who previously was 8/8 in save opportunities, served up a solo home run to rookie catcher Evan Gattis with two outs in the bottom of the ninth inning that tied the game at four.

Plouffe was the only Twins batter to reach base in the tenth when he was hit by a pitch. Adding insult to injury, Plouffe appeared to injure his head and had to be helped off of the field trying to break up a double play in the tenth. His condition was not immediately known.

The Twins fall to 18-24 overall and will finish up a three game series at Turner Field with an 11:10 am start on Wednesday. Vance Worley (1-4) will start for Minnesota opposite Paul Maholm (5-4).
