The Twins blew an early 5-2 lead slowly, but surely, in a 7-6 loss to Detroit Thursday night at Comerica Park. The Twins' bullpen gave up four runs in just over two innings pitched.

The Tigers took a 2-0 lead in the bottom of the first on a Miguel Cabrera two-run homer off of Diamond, but the Twins stormed back with one run in the second inning and four in the third. Josh Willingham hit a three-run home run in the second to give the Twins the 5-2 lead.

After Detroit cut the Twins' lead to 5-3 in the fifth, Josh Willingham hit his second home run of the game to make the score 6-3 in the top of the seventh.

The Tigers plated three runs to tie the game in the bottom of the seventh, then earned the game winning run on a Prince Fielder infield single in the eighth.

The loss was the ninth straight for the Twins, who are now 18-26 on the season. They will try to tame the Tigers again on Friday night.
