DENVER, CO -- The Minnesota Timberwolves beat the Denver Nuggets 95-78 on Friday behind an impressive performance by rookie Karl-Anthony Towns.

Towns, the first overall pick in June's draft, scored 28 points and pulled down 14 rebounds as he starts his career with back-to-back double-doubles. The 19-year-old also recorded four blocks on the night.

Andrew Wiggins rebounded from a rough season debut to score 18 points in 31 minutes.

Ricky Rubio, Kevin Martin, and Zach LaVine also finished in double digits with 12, 14, and 10 points respectively.

With the win, the Wolves improve to 2-0 on the season. Minnesota will host the Portland Trailblazers on Monday in the home opener.
