The Timberwolves chose one, if not the most, athletic player in the draft in 6'6 guard Zach LaVine from UCLA.  LaVine played just one season at UCLA and averaged 9 points per game.  He started just 1 game and came off the bench for the Bruins.  The Timberwolves passed Michigan State players Adriean Payne and Gary Harris from Michigan State.

The Wolves in the 2nd round, #40 overall, picked 6'7 small forward Glenn Robinson III from Michigan.  Robinson by some was projected as a first round pick.  He averaged 13 points and 4.4 rebounds a game at Michigan last season as a sophomore last season.

The Wolves traded picks #44 and #53 overall in the 2nd round for cash considerations with Brooklyn and Houston respectively.
